Foap App – Make Money Selling Photos Online

Are you an amateur photographer that is looking to get your work published, or looking for opportunities to take photos? Well, look no further, Foap is the answer you’ve been looking for. Foap is a app that pays people to take photos on recently posted items, experiences, or brands that submit information to the company.

About Foap

What Is Foap?

When a brand design agency is looking for photos to post on their webpages, they reach out to independent photographers to capture these pictures. With Foap, you can post pictures online, and if picked by the brand, and receive money from the company. Foap started in 2012 with the unveiling of a smartphone app that is free to download to any phone with the app store. Their offices are located all over the world, with corporate locations in New York, Poland, and Sweden.

How Does It Work?

To start earning money with your phone by taking pictures, all you have to do is download the free smartphone app. Once you have downloaded it, a simple sign-up process is followed by a disclaimer saying your photos may be used publicly, but that you will be paid for the use of your photos.  After that, you will be asked to rate five photos from 1 to 5 stars. This process is necessary because it starts you out with rating photos, which will happen to your photos frequently when they are on the app.

Once you have signed up and rated photos, you can start uploading your own photos to the app. After you have uploaded a photo, and have created tags and a description of the photo, other Foap users can rate your photo. The rating system shows what other users think of your photo, and how popular your photo is. When your ratings start coming in, your photo will be posted on the Foap Marketplace for sale by other users, or companies that utilize the app to find photos.

How Much Can You Make?

Foap markets each photo at $10 each, and will split the profits 50/50 with you. However, after you have sold a photo, you can post it back to the marketplace to be sold again. Therefore, if you take a great picture that has multiple practical uses either for advertisements or for personal uses, you can sell it as many times as you’d like.

Payment is made via PayPal at the end of each month. In order to cash out, you need to request for your money before the 15th of the month, and will receive that money at the end of the month. If you wait till after the 15th, you will have to wait for next month’s payout cycle.  Payment delays like this are not uncommon in the online survey world, some users have experienced much longer wait times from other programs.  The Foap app handles payments similarly to Send Earnings, one of our top survey sites.

Large Membership

There are thousands of members on Foap that will see, and potentially buy your photo. On top of members on the app, companies and brands also follow Foap to find photos for marketing campaigns and advertisements. Since there are so many people and companies that use the app, the chances of you being able to find a buyer for your photos is very high.

Mobile Friendly

Foap is a mobile app, therefore you can take your photos on the go, and upload it the minute you take the photo. The app is easy to use, and makes posting photos and adding descriptions very easy

Missions and Contest with Foap

Often, companies will offer contest and missions to the users of Foap for taking a specific kind of picture. These contests usually pay up to $100 for a single photo, which means you will be taking home $50 just for one picture.  There will be guidelines to follow, and even suggestions about what to upload, so you have the best chance of winning the contests, and have your picture be relevant.

Only Available As An App

People can only post and upload pictures from their smartphone, meaning you have to have a smartphone with a camera to join the app and earn money. Although you may own a nice camera, and can take really high resolution photos, you cannot upload photos to the app from a outside source.

One Way To Earn

Since Foap only pays via PayPal, you have to have a account to earn money. On top of that, PayPal takes a few days for the money to transfer from the app to your account, which means you will have to wait even longer to see your money in your account.  We always recommend using programs with multiple ways to earn cash, like Mintvine.

Not as Established

Foap does have a A- BBB rating, but it is not accredited yet.  This means there is little information about how Foap deals with complaints, paying people on time, or any other malfunction that may happen within the app at any point in the process.

Its Just Photos

Do not bank on making a lot of money on this app. Foap is just for selling photos online, and with there being so many people on the app taking photos, it may be hard for you to sell a lot of photos. Imagine how hard it would be to sell photos on your own, and now quadruple that difficulty when selling photos online surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of other photos.

Bottom Line:

It can be very difficult to earn a lot of money on Foap. There are many people on the site, constantly posting photos, and for you to think that you will sell all your photos quickly is naïve. However, since it is free, it does not hurt to post a few pictures and hope for the best. If you end up selling photos, congrats! You made a few dollars, and now your photos may be published somewhere online. Conversely, if you do not sell photos, but still want to earn money online, there are other options out there.
